food savvy

Andy Sheen-Turner created Los Angeles-based company, Food Savvy, from his love for all things "food."

Originally from England, Andy acquired a taste for fine food and wine while touring the major cities of Europe as a professional musician.

After relocating to the United States, he fulfilled a life long ambition to become classically trained in the culinary arts. Awarded with a scholarship from UCLA, he entered the university's Professional Designation in Cooking and Baking program.

After graduating from UCLA, Andy honed his skills working in such prestigious Los Angeles eateries as Campanille and Citrus. It was a request from a regular customer for Andy to create a custom menu for a private dinner party that led to his career as a private chef.

As demand for his work increased, Andy founded Another Bite catering, a private chef and full service catering service that had a client base centered in the Hollywood entertainment industry. Another Bite catered everything from small intimate power lunches to major special events including the Tournament of Roses Parade.

Andy's passion for food and his attention to detail led to the formation of Food Savvy Incorporated. His work has been featured in a wide spectrum of media including: People Magazine, The Food Network, AOL, The History Channel, The Learning Channel, The Ellen De Generes Show, The Fine Living Network, and in several best-selling cookbooks.

Andy's recipe testing work has been featured on the Food Network shows "Everyday Italian" and "Giada at Home", on "Take Home Chef" for the Learning Channel, and in several best-selling cookbooks.

In 2004, Andy's extensive knowledge of food led to the Food Network offering him the position of West Coast Food Resource Consultant for Iron Chef America. Andy was involved in all aspects of research and purchasing of the "secret "ingredients as well as assembling the vast pantry required to satisfy some of the World's most demanding chefs featured on the show.

Andy's association with the Food Network continued when he was asked to join the team of the the Emmy Award-winning show, Everyday Italian. Andy worked on the Everyday Italian crew as the culinary producer  for 10 seasons.

In 2008, Andy became the senior culinary producer on the multi-Emmy Award winning food and lifestyle show, Giada At Home that airs on the Food Network. He has been with the show for 13 seasons.
